Michael was a beloved colleague, a gifted and popular teacher, and a superb researcher and writer. He embodied the conviction that scholars have an important role to play in society. We will miss him and will strive to honor his memory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can read more about Michael on his website: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaeljerryson.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.michaeljerryson.com<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following a private burial, a service open to all will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17 at Foxfield Preserve, 9877 Alabama Ave. SW, Wilmot, OH 44689. Unvaccinated guests are asked to wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Venmo account @InMemory-ofMichael.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buddhistdoor.net\/news\/pioneering-scholar-of-buddhism-and-violence-michael-jerryson-dies-aged-47\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this<\/a> touching obituary to learn more about Michael and his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jess Hardin at <em>Mahoning Matters<\/em> published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mahoningmatters.com\/local-news\/living-in-the-moment-ysu-community-remembers-professor-michael-jerryson-3972209\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this<\/a> touching remembrance, which focuses on reflections by Michael&#8217;s colleagues and students.
